The Annual Technology Awards celebrate and honor the Capital Region’s most innovative and inspiring companies and individuals whose pioneering and entrepreneurial successes are bettering our communities by strengthening our workforce and creating new jobs and opportunities. Each year, we give out between 5-7 awards. The winners are selected by our awards committee, comprised of local technologists, business leaders and entrepreneurs.

Lean Finance & Accounting Workshop

The operational strategy most effective in achieving world-class performance is Lean. Unfortunately, accounting can be an obstacle to the Lean journey as traditional performance metrics are not aligned with nor promote Lean behavior. Operation’s professionals achieve great gains on the production floor but are surprised when there is little evidence of improved operating results on traditional financial reports. Accounting and manufacturing must work together to develop new metrics and “plain English” financial reporting. This class will illustrate the changes required based on 30 years of leading such changes.

This regularly-scheduled forum is designed for entrepreneurs to get visibility to the region’s angel and institutional investors, business service providers, advisers, students, faculty, alumni and the early stage business community. The forum is a great place for newly formed start-up companies to make their first investor pitch.

Physicians, researchers, entrepreneurs and friends of the BACC are cordially invited to a Lunch & Learn exploring the benefits of working with a 503B Outsourcing Facility facilitating pharmacy manufacturing.   As a registered and approved FDA facility, a 503B Facility can rapidly create approved pharmaceutical products, specialized drug combinations, clinical testing and sterile repacking.

Currently three AMC researchers and clinicians are working with Pharmaceutic Labs to investigate potential formulations in their respective areas of specialty.  We are excited to host Ernesto Samuel; CEO of Pharmaceutic Labs to share his experience and to explain this new and potentially expedited commercialization process.  Mr. Samuel is a successful scientific and technical executive with over 25 years of pharmaceutical and cosmetic experience.  Pharmaceutic Labs recently formed a strategic partnership with Albany Medical Center (AMC) to create a CRO called Biomed Innova, which will assist regional researchers and clinicians in accelerating existing research projects.
